LOCATION
Mahale Wildlife Research Centre is in the Mahale Mountains National
Park, which lies 120 km south of Kigoma on a peninsula that cuts out into
Lake Tanganyika. Mahale National Park covers an area of 1 577 km2 (6o 15'S
and 29o55'E).
RESEARCH
Mahale Wildlife Research Centre has been in existence
for thirty-three years. This centre
is responsible for wildlife research carried out in Mahale National
Park.

- Japanese Chimpanzee
research programmes which have been going on over 40 years.
